EWERBY & EVEDON PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

 

The Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of the Parish Council held on Tuesday 8th May 2018 at 7.35pm at The Reading Room, Main Street, Ewerby.

Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman

Councillor M. Scott was unanimously voted in as Chairman. Proposed by Councillor C Issitt Seconded by Councillor R Hallawell.

Councillor T. Henson was unanimously voted in as Vice Chairman. Proposed by Councillor M Priestley Seconded by Councillor T Dean.

 

Election of Charity Trustees.

Tindale. Councillor T Henson and Councillor T. Dean will continue as trustees.

Pells. Councillor M. Priestley, Mrs. Marianne Sardeson, will continue as trustees.

 

Minutes of the Meeting held on 15th February 2018

The minutes having been previously circulated were signed as being a true record.

 

Matter arising from the minutes.

i) New Grit Bin for Evedon is in hand.                             

ii) Pot Holes have been reported more than once. Clerk to chase again.

iii) Speed Limit and Lights on Thorpe Road. No progress. Clerk to try again.

iv) Data Protection Policy as circulated was adopted with thanks to Councillor Hallawell.  Councillor Scott was appointed the Data Protection Officer. 

 

Risk Assessment Review.

The review was circulated prior to the meeting. After a short discussion the review was unanimously adopted. Proposed by Councillor T Dean seconded by Councillor M. Priestley.

 

Annual Governance Statement.

The statement was circulated prior to the meeting.   It was unanimously adopted. Proposed by Councillor C. Issitt seconded by Councillor R. Hallawell.

 

Internal Auditor Report.

The internal audit report was again carried out by Will Howe. He gave us a clean report.

 

 

Annual Accounts.

 Councillor Scott circulated the accounts and a Seven Year comparison prior to the meeting. Councillor Henson queried the bank balance. It was agreed that the excess income of £1037 needed to be add for the figure to agree with that of the bank account, £2185 at the end of the 2017/18 year.  The adoption of the accounts was proposed by Councillor M Priestley and seconded by Councillor T. Dean and unanimously agreed.

 

Insurance Review.

The insurance is due for renewal on 1st June. The policy this year is with BHIB and is approximately £60 less than last year. After perusal it was unanimously agreed to accept their policy.

 

Cemetery Improvements.

All the Councillors agreed that the cemetery had been vastly improved and was now a peaceful and pleasing place to be visited.

18/0435/HOUS.        8 Field Lane. Single Storey front extension. Porch

                                        & garage extension with new pitched roof. 

                                        Erection of Workshop. No objections.

All the above were Granted.

 

Playingfield.

Some of the upright poles were loose. Councillors to investigate.

Any Other Business.

i)Following District Councillor Julia Harrisons resignation on health grounds there is to be an election.

ii)Evedon had experienced problems with articulated lorries going to the Chicken Farm. A meeting was held between some villagers and representatives from the farm.

iii)Evedon Notice Board -  Councillor Issitt to speak to Andrew Upton.

iv)Water leak on Thorpe Road. Report to Anglia Water.
